The Brief
To refurbish and restock a run down plant nursery in a prime location on the banks of the Thames.

We couldn’t figure out how something so beautiful as a flower was sold in something so ugly as a garden centre

The solution
Create a natural yet cosmopolitan feeling. An environment where the customers were encouraged to spend time and enjoy the surroundings, but where all the surroundings were for sale. The feeling of being let into an exclusive world from another era and another continent.

The Work
Concrete and tarmac were replaced with natural hoggin pathways. Original garden walls were revealed, hedges planted. An oak cafe / kitchen was constructed to house an organic gourmet restaurant.

All stock had to both practical and beautifully made – no plastic if possible. We sourced a wide range of plants ,many grown on site that were not readily available in garden centres, dispayed in inspiring ways. Items were sourced from as many British manufacturers and  craftsmen as possible combined with unique pieces from India, Italy and France.
